Latest Release

My newest short story Chaos in the Caverns is now available on Kindle. It’s a humorous supernatural fantasy, not to be taken seriously. It came about from a call to submission for an anthology — the theme was Ghosts on Drugs. Despite keeping to that theme, it was rejected.

I’m pretty sure it was a theme reject, but I can’t tell you why I suspect that because it will spoil the whole plot of the story. Needless to say, I got some feedback from fellow writers and editors and revised it some. I sent it out to other publications; no bites. Or, more accurately, there were nibbles but nothing big enough to hook a fish.

I suspected this story would be a hard sell and so I decided to self-publish it. It's light-hearted, no meaty or gritty themes, just a bit of fun. If you can handle frivolity for frivolity's sake.

Here’s the cover and the blurb:

Down in the caverns there’s a killer on the loose. Hell is getting high and the ghouls are going gooey. If Lucifer can’t clean up the sticky mess and find the culprit, they might all be doomed for greater things. Cloud Nine is but a feather width away…

So what’s next? Well, I have another short I’m working on to self-publish, in an entirely different vein, and I’ve begun to revise my next novel. I’ve also got a piece coming up on Flash fiction Online in June, entitled Touching Strangers, which is one of my particular favourites. So, yes, things are beginning to happen, one small step at a time.
